“Lots of cakes and lots of talks.” Archi opens up her pastry shop, “The Andrews”

May 25, 2021, Dhaka, Bangladesh: Archi, known for its amazing themed base cupcakes, finally opens up her Archie Comics theme restaurant in Banani 11, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Many notable chefs were present at the launching ceremony to encourage her and give their valuable advice on starting up their venture.
During the event, Archi speaks about her dreams and aspirations about making this franchise and also gave her valuable tips to the pastry chef aspirants. She, in her speech, mentioned, " Many people are reluctant to start their business because of the cost included in it, but if you turn your passion into a profession, everything becomes easy.”
The most amusing element of this launching event was the open conversation between the new pastry chef and the renowned faces of the pastry world. Many essential and crucial issues regarding start-ups were brought to light. Everyone encouraged each other by passing on important information and advice and how they can make the best out of every situation. The new pastry chefs expressed their concern over how they can come up with their own bakery shop one day. To which, Archi said, “It is essential to know how much you can risk fulfilling your passion. If you are dedicated enough and is willing to take the risk, you are already halfway there to fulfill your dream.”
The famous pastry chef from Australia, Kirsten Tibballs, congratulated her on this new venture and said she is very excited to try all the items in the shop. While asking her about her thoughts on getting into a food venture, she said, " This part can be tricky but as well as easy if you have the right business plan and the right team to execute it with."
The event was filled with many pastry chef enthusiasts who wished to make their career in the world of pastry. To answer their questions about making food hobbies turn into a business, Shababa Ishmam, the owner of Red Window, the famous pastry restaurant, was also present. While answering the questions, she mentions," a bakery doesn't have to have only pastries; a restaurant can also open up your options of exploring"
The event ended with the introduction of the new pastry recipe, curated by the owner herself. Overall, it was a fun-filled event where not only everyone enjoyed the delicious food, but many pastry chefs like Archi got valuable advice from the best of the industry.
Learnings and outcomes (Self-reflection): Even though I have written several press releases for various events of ULAB, this was a new form of press that I wrote. It was a bit difficult since I had very little knowledge about the format, but eventually I was able to crack it by researching a little bit.
